Shipping Insurance Policy

At American Tanning & Leather, we strive to ensure that your orders are delivered safely and securely. To provide added protection for your purchases, we offer shipping insurance coverage. It is your decision as to whether or not you wish to insure your order. If you choose to insure the order, the cost is $1.30 per $100.00 of invoice value. This charge will appear in the checkout.

Please review the following policy carefully to understand the terms and conditions of our shipping insurance:

1. Coverage Eligibility:

• Only orders that have opted for shipping insurance during checkout are eligible for coverage.
• All eligible orders must be insured at the time of purchase to qualify for shipping insurance benefits.

2. Coverage Period:

• Claims for lost or damaged shipments must be submitted within 7 days from the date of order placement. Claims submitted after this period will not be eligible for coverage.

3. Exclusions:

• Theft of packages is not covered under our shipping insurance policy. We recommend utilizing tracking services and providing a secure delivery location to minimize the risk of theft.
• Orders not insured at the time of purchase are not eligible for coverage.
• Claims submitted after the 7 day period will not be eligible for coverage.

4. Filing a Claim:

• To file a claim for a lost or damaged shipment, please contact us within the specified time frame.
• Claims must include:
  • Order details (order number, date of purchase, name, address, phone number and email)
  • Evidence of loss or damage (photographs, videos, descriptions)
  • Any other relevant documentation requested by our claims department

5. Compensation:

• If your claim is approved, we will provide compensation for the declared value of the lost or damaged items, up to the maximum coverage amount.
• Compensation may be issued in the form of a refund, replacement of the damaged items, or store credit, at our discretion.

6. Policy Updates:

• American Tanning & Leather reserves the right to update or modify our shipping insurance policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website.
