1. Tanning Cost and Lead Times

Please review our estimated tanning costs chart HERE. Our current wait time is approximately 8-12 months. For updates on your hide, feel free to reach out to us directly.

2. Prepare your hide

Make sure your alligator skin is properly salted and cured and the CITES tag is attached to the skin before sending it for tanning. You can find detailed instructions and tips on how to prep your skin by visiting this guide.

3. Choose your color and finish

Select the finish and color for your hide from our available options here. Please note that any color not listed on this page is considered a custom choice, and a surcharge of $400 per skin will apply for such selections.

4. Fill our required forms

Print and complete the required paperwork found here. Ensure your handwriting is clear and legible, as the provided details will be our only means of contacting you. Double-check that your information is accurate, and if your contact details change during the tanning process, please notify us.

5. Ship your skin

Follow the detailed instructions for properly packaging and sending your hide to the tannery. Make sure to carefully review and complete each step outlined in the shipping guidelines. You can find the full instructions here. Once your skin has been received by us, you will receive an email confirmation with your contract tanning details and a receipt for your deposit.

6. Await completion

Review the cost and lead times here. Feel free to contact us with any questions or updates. While waiting for your leather to be finished, we recommend planning your project with your finished piece. Leather makers often have waitlists and require time to design before crafting your item, so getting ahead of this will ensure a smoother process. 7. Final payment and shipping

Once your leather is complete, we will contact you using the email provided on your paperwork. A final invoice will be sent, and upon payment, your leather will be shipped to the address provided on your paperwork. It's crucial that your contact information is accurate and up to date, so please notify us of any changes while your hide is with us to ensure a smooth process.

We are happy to have you pick up your finished leather or drop off your raw hide. Please understand an appointment to do so is required, and reaching out directly to us is the best way to do so.
